Philosophy
The Children’s Center offers an enrichment program with an atmosphere
of love and acceptance. The emphasis is placed on the develop-met of
each child's self-worth and every child is accepted at his/her current
developmental level. Our goal is to provide a positive, nurturing environment
where children can learn and grow in their own unique way with the support
of our caring and professional staff.
Our daily schedule allows each child
the opportunities to create, explore the environment and learn problem
solving and personal interaction skills.
We feel children learn
best
- When activities are developmentally (age) appropriate.
- When positive
social skills are encouraged and modeled.
- When intellectual growth is
achieved through child centered, hands on, problem solving experiences
that involve a balance between self-exploration, play and teacher directed
activities.
- When the child's individuality and creativity are encouraged
and supported.
- Where positive self esteem is the ultimate goal for each
child.
Our program is based on the Christian attitude of love. Bible
stories and songs may be used to enhance our learning themes. Every
child learns about right and wrong, justice, forgiveness, fair play,
and the regard for the rights and feelings of others through the use
of positive reinforcement.
We allow no discrimination and show respect
for the child's unique cultural heritage.
We respect the parents as the
primary and most important provider of care and nurturing, and we believe
parents and teachers are partners in children's care and education. Our
school exists as a center for child, family and community advocacy.
